Geography and Economy

Umuomaku is a town in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. There are currently four villages in the town which are Umunambu, Okpobe, Umuokpurukpu and Umungada.


The town has four major linked roads and can be accessed through these routes; Ibughubu Umuchu on the Umunze- Uga express, Ezira on the Ekwuluobia - Umunze Road, Enugu Umuonyia and from Amanasa Umuchu.


The market day for the town is EKE. People from various locations come to trade their goods and services at the market.


It is bordered on the east by Umunze and Ezira, to the north by Agbudu and to the south by Umuchu, all in Anambra state.  It covers a total surface area of approximately 3,961 square kilometers.

 

The climatic condition is essentially wet and dry tropical savannah, with the average mean daily temperature of about 21 °C to 30 °C. The distance from Awka to Umuomaku is approximately 50km and from Onitsha is 55k
